GB were once again in attendance to support the SCA Australian Sporting Nationals
GB were once again in attendance to support the SCA Australian Sporting Nationals last week, with this year’s event being held at the scenic Brisbane Sporting Clays ground. Many congratulations to GB shooters Nate Palubiski, Blake Nankervis, Xavier Russell, Chris Brown and Georgia Rogers for winning medals using our GB Extreme cartridges. Congratulations also to the Papaluca brothers for winning the Junior and Sub-Junior categories with GB cartridges.
Nate, pictured above, despite still being a junior shooter, took the overall High Gun with an impressive 187/200 clays, winning his first Sporting Clays Nationals High Gun title in magnificent style by leading the field from the start and holding off Australia’s best shooters in a high-pressure final round by shooting 25/25 clays to win the overall title by a single clay.
Blake won the men’s AA category, with Xavier and Chris (all pictured on the podium above), taking second and third positions, respectively. A fantastic clean-sweep podium for Team GB! Xavier had an incredible final two days by shooting 98/100 clays, cleaning 50/50 targets on the final day.
GB lady shooter Georgia Rogers (pictured above in 1st position) also shot extremely well over the four days to claim her first SCA Nationals title. An amazing and very successful event for Team GB in Australia.
Magnificent results for the GB women’s team at the Compak Sporting World Championships in Cyprus.
Spanish shooter Beatriz Laparra has once again written a golden page in the history of sport shooting by becoming the World Champion in Hunting Courses this Sunday, July 27, in the Cypriot town of Kornos Village, where the 47th World Championship was held.
Laparra won the women’s category with a magnificent score of 175 points, narrowly beating American Madison Sharpe, who finished with 174, and Australian Renae Birgan, who completed the podium with 170.
This individual success was complemented by the extraordinary performance of the Spanish women’s team, which took the silver medal in a high-level and demanding competition. Beatriz Laparra, Jennifer Román, and Andrea Valsero (all three from Team GB) scored 473 points, allowing Spain to climb to second place on the world podium, in a category dominated by the United States (503 points).
In the men’s team competition, the Spanish team consisting of Juan Valero, Gonzalo García, José Antonio Priego (Team GB), and José Manuel Rodriguez (Team GB) achieved a creditable fourth place, posting a solid and consistent performance throughout the event.
Also worth highlighting is the performance of young Fran Rosa (Team GB), 20th in Junior.

46th Australian Sporting Clay National Championships
GB were in attendance at the 46th Australian Sporting Clay National Championships which took place from 21st – 24th November across two shooting grounds, Laang and Timboon FGA in the state of Victoria. Both picturesque grounds had been prepared impeccably with a wide range of challenging targets. Each location was configured with 4 grounds each, with the competitors alternating between Laang and Timboon to shoot 50 targets on each of the four days. The first two days were warm with good shooting conditions whilst the third and fourth days had more wind, providing additional challenges for the competitors.
Many congratulations to GB shooter Blake Nankervis (pictured below) for winning the Scratch/High Gun title using our GB Extreme cartridges. Congratulations also to GB Junior shooter Nate Palubiski for his silver medal in the Junior category and Sub-Junior GB shooter Brody Leigh for his win in the Handicap High Gun.
Many congratulations must also go to Sporting Clays Australia for an excellently organised event.
